With lenders becoming more and more cautious about whom they loan money to, seller financing is becoming more desirable to both buyers and sellers. The buyer obviously benefits by being able to purchase a home they otherwise may not qualify for. However, it is the seller that really has the opportunity to reap the majority of the benefits from the transaction, including tax benefits.

Last week Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac announced their requirements to allow home owners (whether owner-occupied, second home, or investor) to refinance their current mortgage as part of Obama’s Massive Housing Relief Efforts.

The “Smart Home: Green + Wired” located at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry ended its exhibit on end January 4, 2009, but can still be found online. This home featured a range of Smart and Green technology that would appeal to both the average homeowner looking to cut down energy costs, to the late flower child whose ultimate goal is to reduce their carbon footprint to a negative figure.

Chase is expanding its mortgage modification program in an effort to allow more families to keep their homes. They are extending its program to Washington Mutual (WaMu) and EMC Mortgage Corp. The program begins January 31, 2009 and will be in effect for 2 years.
