Freddie Mac confirms its Short Sales Commission Policy
Freddie Mac confirmed that its servicers are not allowed to renegotiate short sales commissions in writing on August 20, 2009. The policy states that servicers cannot renegotiate the sales commission below the amount agreed to unless the negotiated commission between the seller and real estate broker exceeds 6%.
The NAR has requested that Freddie Mac establish an appeals process for cases when servicers refuse to comply with this policy.
